What we shipped, in order

The last few releases: features that landed, workflows that got faster, and the quieter fixes that make the queue calmer.

  1. v2.0

Website checks, a public API, and sign-in that fits a team

The scanner shell became a working scanner that grades every crawled page for quality, accessibility and compliance. Alongside it, an API for Agency, team member sign-in in the widget, magic links, two-factor sign-in, saved inbox views, lifecycle email and file attachments on reports.

    • AddedWebsite checks: crawl up to 25 pages on Solo, 50 on Studio and 100 on Agency. Each page is scored 0 to 100 on content quality, WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility and compliance rules. Weekly on Solo, daily on Studio and Agency. Dismiss or snooze findings, and see what has changed since the last scan.
    • AddedPublic REST API on Agency, with scoped keys, cursor pagination and 600 requests a minute per key. List projects and issues, read an issue with its comments, download the screenshot, update status, priority and assignee, and post comments.
    • AddedTeam members can sign in through the widget and their reports carry a team-member badge. Widget targeting picks the audience (everyone, members, guests) and includes or excludes URL patterns, re-checked on single-page navigation.
    • AddedMagic link sign-in and domain auto-join: a verified email at your company domain lands in the workspace automatically as a member or a guest.
    • AddedTwo-factor sign-in with an authenticator app and ten recovery codes. Guests can be scoped to specific websites.
    • AddedSaved inbox views (private or shared), duplicate and related issue links, and a "hide duplicates" filter.
    • AddedLifecycle emails: welcome, install reminder, trial ending, storage at 80% and a weekly summary. One unsubscribe link switches the optional ones off.
    • AddedFile attachments on reports (up to three files, 5 MB each) and the widget now speaks eight languages with touch-friendly annotation.
    • AddedPersonal connected accounts for trackers, so pushed issues appear under your own name in Jira, GitHub or Linear. Form destinations map any field on the report to any field in the destination.
    • ImprovedThe Authentication settings page now states what is switched on and how, rather than showing "coming soon".
    • ImprovedThe embed script is delivered from a content-hashed cache, so browsers pick up widget changes without a version bump on your site.
    • ImprovedAn accessibility pass on the widget: keyboard order, focus rings, screen-reader labels and reduced-motion respect on every launcher, form and annotation control.
    • ImprovedNightly database backups with a tested restore, and hourly checks that the payment provider and email service still answer. Both surface on the status page.
    • ImprovedEvery looping animation on the marketing site has been removed. Motion now only runs on hover or when a section first comes into view.
    • FixedPayment errors now say what actually went wrong when a card is declined, expired or blocked, instead of a generic failure notice.
  2. v1.8

    Pixel-faithful screenshots, in Bugpot colours

The capture engine was rebuilt to serialize your page byte-for-byte, so screenshots now match what the reporter actually saw: modern CSS, custom fonts, data-URI icons and all. The widget also grew into its own skin.

    • ImprovedScreenshot serializer now inlines stylesheets from their raw source, fixing captures that lost styling on Tailwind and var()-heavy sites.
    • ImprovedStylesheet cascade order and @import chains are preserved in the capture.
    • AddedThe widget now wears Bugpot branding: pot mark, honeypot palette, and a tidy powered-by footer you can switch off on Agency.
    • FixedData-URI SVG backgrounds (dropdown arrows, checkboxes) no longer corrupt the captured stylesheet.
  3. v1.6

    Workspace branding + guest forms

You can now brand the widget with your workspace logo and colours, and configure separate forms for guest reporters and logged-in members.

    • AddedWorkspace branding: logo, colours and heading font on the widget.
    • AddedSeparate custom form for guest reporters vs. logged-in members.
    • ImprovedThe widget loader is now 12% smaller and defers the annotation toolkit until it is opened.
    • FixedVery tall pages no longer drop the top of the screenshot on Safari on iPad.
  4. v1.5

    Signed webhooks + delivery log

Outbound webhooks are now signed with an HMAC and every delivery lands in a searchable log with the payload and response for debugging.

    • AddedHMAC-signed webhook deliveries and a delivery log with replay.
    • AddedCSV export for the audit log on Agency plans.
    • ImprovedCommand palette (⌘K) now supports jumping between projects.
  5. v1.4.2

    Sign in three ways

Team sign-in grew up: Google and GitHub OAuth, WebAuthn passkeys, and transactional email over authenticated SMTP. Guests still need none of it; they just report.

    • AddedGoogle and GitHub OAuth for team accounts.
    • AddedPasskey (WebAuthn) sign-in: phishing-resistant and password-free.
    • AddedInvite, verification and notification email over your SMTP provider.
    • ImprovedSessions are now single-flight refreshed, so parallel tabs stop logging each other out.
  6. v1.4

    Analytics + AI triage assist

A workspace-level analytics dashboard for report volume, resolution time and top reporters. Optional AI assist suggests priority and tags on new reports.

    • AddedAnalytics dashboard: volume, median resolution time, top pages and top reporters.
    • AddedOpt-in AI triage assist (suggests priority and issue-type tags).
    • ImprovedBulk-triage: apply status, priority and assignee to a selection from the inbox.
  7. v1.3

    Shadow-DOM widget rewrite

The widget now renders inside a Shadow DOM, isolating it from host CSS and JS. Reporters see a consistent widget on every site it lands on.

    • ImprovedWidget now renders inside a Shadow DOM for full CSS isolation.
    • ImprovedScreenshot renderer switched to a hybrid DOM + getDisplayMedia pipeline.
    • FixedConsole-error capture no longer duplicates when multiple SPAs share a page.
  8. v1.1

    Triage, faster

The inbox learned to keep up with a busy Monday: keyboard shortcuts for everything, quick actions on every row, and custom issue types with their own forms.

    • AddedKeyboard shortcuts across the inbox: press ? to see the map.
    • AddedCustom issue types with per-type report forms.
    • AddedQuick actions on inbox rows: resolve, progress, open in new tab.
    • ImprovedScreenshot thumbnails in the list make reports recognisable at a glance.
  9. v1.0

    Bugpot 1.0

The pot opens: annotated screenshot capture, a triage inbox, guest reporting with no accounts, and plans for solo builders through to agencies, all self-serve with a 14-day trial.

    • AddedThe feedback widget: one script tag, annotated screenshots, environment data attached.
    • AddedThe triage inbox with statuses, priorities, assignees and comments.
    • AddedSolo, Studio and Agency plans with subscription billing and a 14-day free trial.
    • AddedGuest reporting: clients send feedback with just a name and email.
